Customers often inquire about color matching. They need or want a specific color for their powder coating job.

Custom Color Match

Our team will submit your color sample to our powder suppliers whose specialized laboratory technicians will formulate, test, and return a sample panel per your specifications for your review and approval. Custom color matching may take up to 12 weeks. Upon your approval of the sample panel, an additional 2-3 weeks will be needed to process the powder order.

Volume (pounds) required within a year (EAU) will affect pricing: the higher the volume, the better your price.

RAL Powder Colors

Developed in Europe in 1927, the RAL color system is used to identify colors where the exact powder formulation has been already been created and is established as a standard color.

Our powder suppliers have many RAL colors in stock ready to ship within 2 days. The stocked RAL powders are manufactured in high volume and come with best pricing as a result.

However, other RAL colors are still considered a custom color because the powder is not stocked & must be manufactured according to the “standard formula’. These powders require a 2-3 week lead time. As with true custom color matched powder, order quantity will affect pricing.

In-House Stocked Powders

We routinely carry a selection of approximately 20 stock color powders in our shop with sample panels available.

Color is not the only criteria determining a powder formula. Your specification of texture, degree of gloss, end use, exposure to the elements and/or harsh chemicals are just some of the factors needed to identify the powder best suited to meet your requirements.
